The upper leather used in this style is the full grain Waxed Rough-out article from the Charles F. Stead tannery. This article was tanned to our specifications using both an oil base and a wax finish to allow ease of conditioning over time. This means that you can use either a wax or an oil, as opposed to one or the other, to take care of the leather over time.
